Beaudesert to Beenleigh corridor safety improvements
The department is delivering safety improvements on sections of the Beaudesert to Beenleigh corridor.
Targeted road safety improvements including improved line marking/signage, audio tactile line marking, removing roadside hazards, localised road widening and safety barriers have been undertaken at various locations between Beaudesert and Beenleigh.
The culverts below the road north of the Schmidt Road intersection at Cedar Creek have been replaced in advance of road and curve realignment and road and shoulder widening. Construction is expected to be completed in early 2023.
These works are funded from an $18 million commitment from the Australian and Queensland Governments to improve road safety.
Road safety improvement works on Beaudesert–Nerang Road on a 3.7km section between Brooklands Drive and Beaudesert–Beenleigh Road, Tabragalba were completed in late 2021.
Funding for this project includes $6 million from the Australian and Queensland governments' commitment for the Beaudesert to Beenleigh corridor and $6 million from the Queensland Government.

The Australian and Queensland governments have invested $18 million for road safety works in an 80:20 split across various works on the Beaudesert to Beenleigh corridor. $12 million is allocated to Beaudesert-Beenleigh Road between Tabragalba and Wolffdene. Investment ID 1702403 $6 million is allocated to Beaudesert-Nerang Road from the Beaudesert to Beenleigh corridor funding. An additional $6 million from the Queensland Government's yearly Maintenance, Preservation and Environment program has also been allocated, bringing the total investment on this project to $12 million.
