Another 6.6km of the road has been sealed to improve safety and travel times on this key strategic link.
Blackall-Jericho Road, pave and seal
More than 4km of the Blackall-Jericho Road will be paved and sealed to further increase upgraded sections on this strategic link.
The road joins the Landsborough and Capricorn highways and plays an important role in regional growth. It also connects communities from Blackall and surrounding areas with essential services in Emerald and Rockhampton.
The 120km-long road is partly unsealed. These works are part of a broader program to seal more sections of the road than ever before to a width of 6m.
Additional sealing works are also being delivered on this road during 2021, including the Blackall-Jericho Road pave and seal project - stage 1. It is expected more than 11km of the road will be sealed by these 2 projects.
This follows 8.9km of the road being sealed in mid-2019.
