Bruce Highway—Bluewater: widening, intersection upgrades and overtaking lanes

We have delivered vital improvements to road safety on the Bruce Highway between Townsville and Ingham.

We are delivering vital improvements to road safety on the Bruce Highway between Townsville and Ingham.

Wide centre line treatments will be installed, increasing the distance between oncoming traffic lanes and reducing the risk of head-on collisions.

The intersection upgrades will improve visibility and access, improving safety for local traffic movements. Installation of an additional southbound overtaking lane between Townsville and Ingham aims to decrease driver frustration and reduce the risk of unsafe overtaking manoeuvres.

The work north of Bluewater is one of many projects under construction on the Bruce Highway between Ayr and Ingham.
