Bruce Highway (Bowen – Ayr), Bowen Connection Road to Champion Street intersection, widen pavement

The project has delivered safety upgrades to around 6km of the Bruce Highway between the Bowen Connection Road and Champion Street intersections to provide a safer, smoother and more efficient road network.

These works are part of the Bruce Highway Upgrade Program (BHUP).

Under the Bruce Highway Upgrade Program, the department is continuing to invest in safety, flood resilience and capacity upgrades along the Bruce Highway between Brisbane and Cairns.

This project will integrate with Bruce Highway (Mackay-Proserpine), Bowen Connection Road, improve intersection project which is also underway to improve safety for all road users.
