Burke Developmental Road (Normanton - Dimbulah), progressive sealing

Work is underway to progressively seal unsealed sections of the Burke Developmental Road between Almaden and Chillagoe.

Sealing will improve resilience, reliability and productivity as well as reduce travel times along this section of the Burke Developmental Road. It will also improve safety by providing adequate seal width for overtaking and passing vehicles, leading to better visibility and less dust.

Funding

The Queensland Government has committed $5.8 million and $9 million to deliver these projects. The $9 million is part of the Queensland Economic Recovery Strategy: Unite and Recover for Queensland Jobs. Investment ID 1442454 and 1619431

Burke Developmental Road between Almaden and Chillagoe: 

  1. 2.5km section that will be sealed in the $5.8million project.
  2. Section of about 2.5km that will be sealed in the $9million project.
