Cramsie Muttaburra Road (Section 2), pave and seal
Works are underway to seal another 4km of the road.
The last remaining gravel section of Cramsie - Muttaburra Road is set to be sealed.
Works will soon start to seal the final 4km section of gravel road, improving safety, efficiency and wet weather access for all road users travelling between Longreach and Muttaburra.
The road is part of a key link that connects central Queensland with northern and southern parts of Australia. It gives surrounding communities access to goods and services, education, employment and recreation facilities.
Construction is expected to start in early 2022 and when completed in mid-2022, the road will be fully sealed.
Fully sealing the Cramsie - Muttaburra Road complements existing sealed access to Muttaburra via Barcaldine and Aramac, creating a sealed loop to support growth in tourism opportunities.
This project is fully funded by the Queensland Government. Investment ID 1078784
The project is in the pre-construction phase. Construction is expected to start in early 2022 with completion in mid-2022.
