Darra station park 'n' ride upgrade

We are undertaking car park upgrade works at the Darra station park ‘n’ ride to create 184 extra car parking spaces.

The project involves expanding the existing informal car park to the east of Darra station and developing a section of Queensland Rail's property nearby. The new park 'n' ride will be located between Darra Station Road and Warrender Street.

  • Increase parking capacity for commuters by around 184 car parks, bringing the total to 440 car parks.
  • Installing a secure bike storage compound with an additional 32 spaces, providing total bike storage capacity of around 120.
  • Additional CCTV for safety.
  • Improved car park lighting.
  • Pedestrian footpath from Warrender Street to the station.

Current status

Construction commenced in late 2020 and is expected to be completed in late 2021, weather and construction conditions permitting.

Early works including the removal of asbestos contaminated soil from the project site, survey works, geotechnical investigation and public utility plant investigations were completed in April 2020.
