Diamantina Developmental Road (Bedourie – Boulia), widen narrow seal

Works are underway to widen and seal a narrow section of almost 3km of road between Bedourie and Boulia.

The Diamantina Developmental Road supports the ongoing development of a number of industries. It is a strategic route for transporting cattle to market and forms part of the Outback Way, cementing its importance to the drive tourism industry.

The road also connects surrounding communities including Bedourie and Boulia with the works helping provide safer and more secure access.

Current status

Construction started in April 2021 with completion expected in June 2021. Local road crews from Boulia Shire Council are delivering the works.
