More than 26km of the Barcaldine-Aramac Road is being gradually widened to improve travelling conditions.
Diamantina Developmental Road (Bedourie – Boulia), widen narrow seal
Another section of almost 3km of road between Bedourie and Boulia has been widened to improve safety and travel times.
The Diamantina Developmental Road supports the ongoing development of a number of industries. It is a strategic route for transporting cattle to market and forms part of the Outback Way, cementing its importance to drive tourism.
The road also connects surrounding communities, including Bedourie and Boulia, with the completed work providing safer, more reliable access to essential services.

Construction started in April 2021 and was completed in June 2021. Local road crews from Boulia Shire Council delivered the works.
