Boulia – Tobermorey Road (Donohue Highway), Outback Way, various locations, pave and seal
High priority sections of the Donohue Highway have been upgraded.
Another 2km of the Diamantina Developmental Road has been widened between Boulia and Dajarra.
The Diamantina Developmental Road forms part of the Outback Way, a 2,800km route between Winton in Queensland and Laverton in Western Australia, via Alice Springs and the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park in the Northern Territory.
This was part of a broader program of works to upgrade the Outback Way.
The project was jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments on an 80:20 basis. Investment ID 833858
Construction started in February 2021 and was completed in April 2021.
