Diamantina Developmental Road (Boulia – Dajarra) Outback Way, reconstruct and widen

Works are underway to widen another 2km of the Diamantina Developmental Road between Boulia and Dajarra.

The Diamantina Developmental Road forms part of the Outback Way, a 2,800km route between Winton in Queensland and Laverton in Western Australia, via Alice Springs and the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park in the Northern Territory.

Another 2km of the road is now being widened. This project is part of a broader program of works to upgrade the Outback Way.

Current status

Construction started in February 2021 with completion expected mid-2021. Local road crews from Boulia Shire Council are delivering the works.
