Eyre Developmental Road (Bedourie–Birdsville) Section 1, pave and seal

Works have been completed to seal 20km of the road.

The Eyre Developmental Road runs from Bedourie to Birdsville and on to the South Australian border, where it continues as the Birdsville Track. It is an important link for many industries, such as freight and agriculture, providing access to markets in major centres across Australia.

The road also supports outback tourism by connecting travellers with far western Queensland communities. In recent times, traffic volumes on this road have grown significantly due to popular annual events like the Birdsville Big Red Bash and the Birdsville Races.

This project has delivered important improvements in safety and reliability and is better connecting rural communities.
