Flinders Highway (Townsville - Charters Towers), Mingela Road to Kookaburra Creek, wide-centre line treatment
The project on the Flinders Highway includes widening sections of highway pavement to allow for the installation of 1m separations between oncoming traffic lanes. These wide centre line treatments have been shown to significantly reduce the risk of head-on collisions, greatly improving road safety.
