Glasshouse Mountains Road (Steve Irwin Way), Beerwah to Landsborough, improve safety

This project improved safety on a high priority section of Glass House Mountains Road (known as Steve Irwin Way) between Beerwah and Landsborough.

Steve Irwin Way is a strategic link that provides access to popular tourist destinations in south-east Queensland and the local towns of Beerburrum, Glass House Mountains, Beerwah, Landsborough and Palmview.

This link has experienced increased traffic growth over the years therefore this project will improve overall safety and reduce the potential for head-on, rear-end and run-off-road crashes.

Works included widening the existing road, installing a wide centre line to separate opposing traffic flows, providing right-turn lanes at 3 intersections, installing new traffic signals at Fraser Road and removing roadside hazards.
