Hervey Range Developmental Road (Townsville - Battery), Rupertswood Drive to Black River Road, widen pavement

TMR is currently undertaking pavement rehabilitation and widening on Hervey Range Developmental Road between Townsville and Battery, to improve travelling conditions for motorists.

TMR is rehabilitating and widening more than three kilometres of existing, narrow sections of Hervey Range Developmental Road between the Alice River Bridge (Rupertswood Road) and Black River Road.

These improvements will provide safer conditions for motorists and improve network efficiencies.

As part of the project, the Hervey Range Developmental Road and Black River Road intersection will be upgraded. New turning lanes will be installed, improving safety for motorists.

Current status

Construction commenced in March 2021 and is due to be completed in late 2021 (weather and construction conditions permitting).
