Kennedy Developmental Road—Winton Boulia widening project Package 1

We are widened more than 17km of the Kennedy Developmental Road in Central West Queensland.

The Kennedy Developmental Road forms part of the Outback Way, a 2800km route between Winton in Queensland and Laverton in Western Australia via Alice Springs and the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park in the Northern Territory.

Key features

Widening more than 17km of the Kennedy Developmental Road between Winton and Boulia to a 6m wide sealed road.

As part of these works, flood immunity was also increased by sealing flood ways to 8m in width.

Other works included installing and upgrading guide posts, signs and depth indicators at flood ways.

Construction started in June 2019 with works completed in early April 2020.
