Kilcoy-Beerwah Road, Peachester Road and Old Gympie Road (Beerwah), signalised intersection

Work is now complete for the $5.5 million intersection upgrade, which included installing traffic signals at Kilcoy-Beerwah Road (locally known as Peachester Road) and Old Gympie Road.

The following work was undertaken: 

  • installing new traffic signals
  • widening the road to accommodate additional turning lanes
  • installing signalised pedestrian crossing facilities
  • undertaking approximately 1.5km of resurfacing works on Peachester Road from the Old Gympie Road intersection, to the east, through to the Blackbutt Street intersection.

  • Provision for B-Double truck movements at the intersection has been included as part of the upgrade design. However, permits for B-Double travel will continue to be based on an assessment of the entire route travelled.
