Landsborough Highway (Winton – Kynuna), pavement strengthening and widening
Another 2km of the highway between Winton and Kynuna has been widened and strengthened.
A high priority section of the Landsborough Highway north of Winton has been widened and strengthened.
The Landsborough Highway is the principal north-south route servicing western Queensland and is a key tourism route and vital transport supply chain.
The project has widened and strengthened another 3km section of highway between Winton and Kynuna, ensuring a safe driving experience for all road users.
The project was jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments on an 80:20 basis as part of tranche 2 of the Road Safety Program.
Construction started in August 2021 and was completed in December 2021 by local road crews from RoadTek based in Winton.
