Redbank Plains Road overpass repairs, Blackstone

TMR is undertaking repair works on the Redbank Plains Road overpass.

On 1 March 2021, the Redbank Plains Road overpass bridge sustained significant impact damage.

In the interest of safety, TMR temporarily closed the Redbank Plains Road overpass while investigations were undertaken. On 22 March 2021, the overpass was partially reopened to westbound traffic only, with a single lane operational.

The first stage of works has been completed and involved removing and replacing the damaged concrete and steel, and completing crack repairs with epoxy injections.

The second stage of works will involve the construction of new steel cross girders bracing the bridge girders to minimise damage in the event of another overpass strike.
