Toowoomba–Cecil Plains Road safety upgrades

Planning is underway to improve safety on Toowoomba–Cecil Plains Road.

The community is being asked to help identify safety improvements to reduce the risk of fatal and serious injury crashes on Toowoomba-Cecil Plains Road.

Toowoomba–Cecil Plains Road is an important rural road in the Darling Downs, connecting agricultural communities with markets and services in Southern Queensland.  

Road safety improvements will benefit businesses and the community by improving transport efficiency, reliability and supporting economic development in the Darling Downs.

The Queensland Government has committed $250,000 to develop a business case for key safety upgrades on the Toowoomba–Cecil Plains Road.

Current status

The community, businesses, residents and road users are being invited to provide feedback at our online consultation hub to help identify key safety issues and community priorities. Online consultation is available via the link on this page from February and will close 31 March 2021.
