Members of the Queensland Public are being targeted by cybercriminals, masquerading as a driver infringement authority.
The fraudulent messages advise the recipients that they have had an infringement detected. The message contains a link to a ZIP file containing malicious software.
The Department of Transport and Main Roads advises not to open the file and to delete the email.
If you have not spoken to a Queensland Police Officer recently regarding a traffic offence and receive an MMS or email that you suspect is not authentic please contact Policelink on 131 444 immediately.
