Community engagement
Getting the community involved is an essential part of Transport and Main Roads' business. It aids our transport planning, policy development and the way we provide services – helping us to make the right decisions.
Community engagement can result in better solutions to issues, changes to the scheduling of works to minimise the impacts and improved policies that reflect public concerns.
The department has a community engagement policy, planner, toolbox and resource guide to enhance interactions with communities.
We invite you to be part of community activities in your area and have your say.

Sumners Road Interchange Planning Study
The Department of Transport and Main Roads is investing in the road network and actively planning to meet the state’s rapid population growth and manage the impact of urban traffic growth to better connect our local communities.
The planning study aims to identify and accommodate possible upgrade solutions for the future to ensure the interchange meets existing and future traffic flows and address pedestrian and cyclist safety.
