History
- In the 1970s, significant residential development was predicted in the Samford Valley area.
- The corridor was planned and preserved in the late 1970s and early 1980s in response to concerns about Samford Road being able to handle traffic growth from predicted development.
- Corridor preservation was based on current planning standards for a four-lane median-divided road.
Current status
There are no current plans for any projects on this corridor.
As determined by the Western Brisbane Transport Network Investigation, this corridor may provide improved access to the rail network in the future if land use changes occur in the Samford Valley.
