Protecting our surface transport system

Transport and Main Roads works with public transport operators, infrastructure owners, the Queensland Police Service and the Australian Government to improve the security of Queensland’s transport system, including against the threat of terrorism.

TMR works with stakeholders to implement the objectives of the Intergovernmental Agreement on Surface Transport Security, agreed by the Council of Australian Governments in 2005, and the Queensland Counter-Terrorism Strategy 2011-13.

TMR’s counter-terrorism initiatives for the transport sector include:
