Information for conveyance committees
The department enters into contracts with bus operators to operate kilometre-based school bus services. These services are funded by the Queensland Government through the School Transport Assistance Scheme (STAS) and are administered by the department in conjunction with conveyance committees.

Subsidised school bus services
Across the state, kilometre-based school bus services are provided to transport eligible school students to and from school. Normally these services are fully government funded. A small number of services, however, operate on the basis of only partial funding of the service by the government.
