Queensland Freight Delivery Plan 2026

The Queensland Government has released the Queensland Freight Delivery Plan 2026 which sets out practical, coordinated actions over the next 5 years to strengthen Queensland’s freight, logistics and supply chain systems.

This plan aims to unlock new opportunities and address challenges across the freight system in Queensland with 70 actions to be delivered over the next 5 years. These actions are centred on the key themes of access, efficiency, productivity, resilience and regional development.

The plan targets 3 outcomes:

• Productivity: Freight productivity enhanced by connecting regions, supply chains and trade gateways
• Reliability: Reliability and resilience strengthened across an end to end freight system and supply chains
• Safety: Safer, lower impact freight operations for users of the network and communities

This new plan demonstrates the Queensland Government’s ongoing commitment to delivering for the state, through:

• effectively prioritising our road and transport infrastructure investment to enable regional development and deliver improvements where they are most needed
• enabling more freight on rail by enhancing rail network performance, reliability and access
• advancing works and safety treatments along our key freight routes, including the Bruce Highway, Warrego Highway, and Flinders Highway, and other critical supply chains such as our Beef Road Corridors
• improving outcomes for our regional and remote communities, through more resilient supply chains.

Over 500 stakeholders, including members of the Queensland Ministerial Freight Council, industry stakeholders and local governments, were engaged in the development of the plan.
