Roads and Bridges
- Roads and bridges across Northwest and Western Queensland currently experiencing widespread impacts by flooding. Please drive to the conditions.
If it's flooded, forget it.
- Visit QLD Traffic for all traffic alerts, road closures and condition updates for major roads in Queensland. You can also download the QLD Traffic app or call 13 19 40 for real-time information. For detailed information on road closures broken down by district, please visit the district road reports.
Reopening roads
- Main roads will be reopened as soon as possible.
- Our inspection crews and assessments will take place as soon as it is safe for our crews to access and assess affected areas to check for damage below the surface.
Heavy Vehicles
Heavy vehicles such as Type 2 freight and travellers in the west must go through Roma due to the impacts on the state-controlled road network:
- Network is restricted to 4.5m wide loads due to wet conditions
- National Highway remains open
- Inland Freight Route open for business.
Rivers, Creeks and waterways
- Avoid boating in flooded waterways. If in doubt, don't go out!

- If your safety is at risk, call Triple Zero (000) or use VHF-16 on your marine radio.
Customer service centres
- With conditions changing rapidly, use our online map to check if your local Customer Service Centre is open before visiting. Alternatively, we have more than 60 services available online for your convenience.
Digital Licence
- Queenslanders are encouraged to download the Digital Licence app which is legally equivalent to a physical card under Queensland law, assisting in identity verification during a disaster.
Air travel
- Some flights and airports are currently impacted. Check with your airline if travelling to affected regions.
Public Transport
- Some public transport services are currently impacted. Please check with your local provider if travelling in affected areas.
