Department of Transport and Main Roads

Supplying to us on the Ariba Network

The way you interact with us to supply your goods and services will be changing soon.

We are partnering with SAP Ariba and SAP Fieldglass to move away from paper-based and manual processes for sending and receiving purchase orders towards a more technology-enabled and streamlined approach through the introduction of the SAP Ariba solution.

Currently, most of our providers who supply personal protective equipment (PPE), major and minor equipment hire (dry hire), and unplanned facilities maintenance use the SAP Ariba Network to transact with us.

To continue your partnership with us, you will be required to transfer to the SAP Ariba Network. Transitioning to the SAP Ariba Network and SAP Fieldglass will be of no cost to our suppliers. Our providers who supply the following will be requested to transition to the new network from early 2023:

  • legal services
  • contingent workers.

Our suppliers will be contacted ahead of time with tailored information and support on how to transition to the SAP Ariba Network to ensure they are comfortable using the new technology.

Joining the SAP Ariba Network and SAP Fieldglass

We will invite relevant suppliers to opt in to register on the SAP Ariba Network via an email sent from SAP on behalf of the Department of Transport and Main Roads. The email will contain a link to a registration form requiring you to provide some details about your organisation (create a new account), or to link your existing Ariba or Fieldglass account to the department.

Once you have registered, you will receive purchase orders via the Ariba Network. You can use the system through a supported web browser.

A few important things to remember:
  • Ariba Network registration is a pre-requisite for using SAP Fieldglass, so your first step will be to register on the Ariba Network before you are able to register as a Fieldglass user.
  • Suppliers using the Ariba Network operating under a Whole of Government Standing Offer Arrangement, will also need to link their accounts to our Ariba Network to transact with us (this is a separate network to Whole of Government). If you would like to have a separate account dedicated to transacting with the Department of Transport and Main Roads, you can setup another account by completing the registration.
  • If you already have an existing:
    • Ariba account, you will need to link your account to the Department of Transport and Main Roads Ariba Network in order to transact with us.
    • Fieldglass account, you can opt to link to your account to Department of Transport and Main Roads' Fieldglass in order to transact with us.

Visit our supplier information portal for training videos, guides, and information to help answer questions you may have about using the system.
