Information for suppliers and contractors

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is one of the largest procurement agencies for Queensland Government with tendering opportunities available across the state. Our procurement is largely undertaken locally following approved frameworks and processes aligned to the Queensland Procurement Policy.

Procurement platforms

TMR uses electronic procurement platforms to support the purchase to payment process and issuing and accepting tenders. These platforms include:

• QTenders – tenders released on QTenders can include building construction projects, goods, services, consultancy, ICT, maintenance, and other non-infrastructure contracts.
• eTenders – infrastructure project tenders including major works, civil infrastructure, and building projects are released on this platform.
• SAP Ariba and SAP Fieldglass – TMR has modernised its procurement and contingent workforce processes using SAP Ariba and SAP Fieldglass as part of the departments Source-to-Pay system.

TMR may also invite select businesses to tender through a shared mailbox.

Future Procurement Opportunities

• TMR publishes future procurement opportunities on the Forward Procurement Pipeline that is available from QTenders.
• For infrastructure tenders over $1 million, the department publishes these opportunities on the Proposed Major Works to Competitive Tender. This list includes tenders that are planned for procurement over the next 12-months. It is updated 3 times a year and includes road, rail, marine and other transport infrastructure procurements.

Prequalification

Where prequalification to deliver a project is a requirement, the minimum prequalification levels will be stipulated in the tender and TMR will only invite businesses that meet the level nominated in the tender.

TMR's Transport Infrastructure Project Delivery System determines the delivery options for major works and projects.

TMR support a variety of delivery methods and offer a standard suite of contract documents to suit the type of project delivery approach:

• Collaborative Project Agreement
