Queensland Guide to Road Safety (QGRS)
The Queensland Guide to Road Safety (QGRS) is issued under the authority of Section 166 of the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995 (Qld). The contents of QGRS are issued as 'approved notices' under Section 166(2) of this Act. The Department of Transport and Main Roads has adopted Austroads Guide to Road Safety (AGRS) 2021 and 2022 as part of national harmonisation. As a result, the QGRS will only provide requirements and recommendations specific to Queensland and take precedence over the equivalent Austroads Part (except where the Austroads is accepted without changes). The QGRS initial release replaces the now withdrawn Traffic and Road Use Management (TRUM) manual, Volume 2: Guide to Road Safety. When a harmonised QGRS Part is published, the previous version of either QGRS it replaces will be withdrawn and will cease to have effect. Harmonisation of the QGRS will affect Transport and Main Roads Regions/Districts, local government authorities, contractors and consultants. All users will need to refer to both the QGRS and AGRS. |
