Transport plays a significant role in supporting improved social and economic outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples throughout Queensland. By delivering a single integrated transport network accessible to everyone, TMR provides people with better access to goods and services.

TMR undertakes a range of activities to deliver improved social and economic outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our cities and regional communities.

The Indigenous Driver Licensing Program aims to reduce unlicensed driving in remote Indigenous communities in far north Queensland.

The Cape York Region Package is a $260.5 million program of works to upgrade critical infrastructure on Cape York Peninsula.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme (TIDS) funding is a component of the statewide TIDS funding program aimed at supporting the local transport infrastructure needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities throughout Queensland.

We work with Myuma in a range of business and training operations.

The Local fares scheme is an airfare subsidy for regional and remote Queensland.

RoadTek is working with Indigenous groups to assist in developing self-sustainability in various occupational programs.

TMR encourages and supports local, social and sustainable initiatives as part of the procurement process, as these initiatives ensure value for money outcomes are achieved.

TMR is responsible for managing local, state and Commonwealth heritage within the road corridor.

As a government agency, TMR follows Native Title requirements.
