Boundary Road (Coopers Plains) rail level crossing


The Department of Transport and Main Roads is undertaking a Planning Study to investigate options to reduce congestion and address safety concerns at the Boundary Road level crossing at Coopers Plains.

The planning study will investigate options to provide:

  • improved and more reliable travel times for rail and road users
  • reduced congestion for all road users
  • improved safety and access for all road users.

TMR has committed $800,000 to deliver the study.

Project info

TMR is working closely with Brisbane City Council which is responsible for the local road network including Boundary Road and Orange Grove Road, and with Queensland Rail which is responsible for the rail corridor, throughout the study’s delivery.

Community consultation occurred from 10 December 2018 to 15 February 2019.

Feedback is being considered in the planning study.

The community will be advised of the planning study outcomes once the study is complete.

Future stages are dependent on the outcome of the study and funding availability.
