Project info

The Queensland Government, with support from the Australian Government, is undertaking the Lindum Station Precinct Study to determine how to best enhance safety and accessibility to and from the rail station, as well as make improvements to the local road network.

The study will investigate broader transport issues relevant to the Lindum precinct, including traffic and pedestrian movements, bus and rail operations, active transport connections, park 'n' ride facilities, station improvements and road network proposals.

Residents, and those who work in or regularly visit the area have provided valuable local knowledge through community consultation and stakeholder engagement undertaken between November 2019 and February 2020. The information gathered through these activities will inform the development of the technical study.

The study will help the Queensland Government to better understand the area's current and future transport challenges and opportunities, mapping a way forward to ensure a safe and reliable transport system for the future.

Consultation insights

Local knowledge about the precinct was gathered during the consultation and engagement program. Four community information sessions were held at Lindum Station, while key stakeholders were engaged and more than 15,000 postcards in the local area were distributed. An online engagement hub also achieved the following inputs:

The key challenges raised by the community included safety, driver behaviour, congestion and  parking. To address these, the community suggested a range of options including road network changes, increased car parking and improved pedestrian access.

All feedback is being considered and will be used to inform the development of the technical study.
