Construction activities

We will be clearing vegetation and trees within the road corridor along the western side of Steve Irwin Way, at Glass House Mountains, between Nursery Road and Barrs Road.

Works are being undertaken to allow relocation of utilities such as UnityWater, Energex, Telstra and NBN services to accommodate the new rail corridor and track infrastructure.

We will try to minimise the amount of time residents and the local community will be impacted by works.

Traffic control

Local traffic changes will be in place including reduced speed limits, temporary lane closures and minor traffic disruptions.

Traffic controllers will be present to assist and direct road users. Priority access through the work zone will be given to emergency vehicles, wherever safe to do so.

Residents can expect increased construction traffic travelling near the work zones.

Access

Access to residential properties and businesses will be maintained as needed.

Pedestrians can expect temporary minor delays. Stop/go traffic management will be in place to ensure pedestrian and worker safety.

Audible noise and dust

Audible noise and dust from construction activities, heavy machinery and other vehicles can be expected. Reversing beepers and flashing lights are a safety requirement and will be used at all times during work hours and measures will be implemented to minimise dust generation.
