Cannon Hill Shopping Centre bus facility, design bus station
The Cannon Hill Shopping Centre bus facility will be upgraded.
The existing bus facility will be upgraded to meet accessibility requirements (Disability Discrimination Act 1992), passenger amenity and bus operational requirements.
This upgrade will also include new lighting, CCTV and a kiss ‘n’ ride facility.
Community consultation on the design concept is expected to be undertaken in early to mid-2022.

The upgrade will:
- enhance safety for bus commuters with new lighting and CCTV equipment
- offer a new kiss ‘n’ ride facility, allowing quick and convenient commuter drop-offs
- improve operational efficiency at the bus facility, in particular during peak period and special events
- ensure compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) and Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport 2002 (DSAPT).
Funding
The Queensland Government committed $1.685 million under the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP) to undertake detailed design activities for Cannon Hill Shopping Centre bus facility, design bus station. Investment ID 1582984
Currently, the project is funded for the design phase only. Further funding is required to progress construction work.

Current status
TMR is currently undertaking preliminary investigations and studies as part of the project.
This phase will include engineering investigations and community consultation on the proposed design.
It is anticipated the detailed design phase will be completed in late 2022.
