Cleveland-Redland Bay Road upgrade
The department is undertaking a $110 million package of works to upgrade Cleveland-Redland Bay Road.
Works include:
- works along key sections of Cleveland-Redland Bay Road (completed)
- the upgraded Anita Street intersection (completed)
- duplicating Cleveland-Redland Bay Road from Anita Street to Magnolia Parade (works underway)
- safety improvements at various intersections, including Serpentine Creek Road (completed)
- duplicating Cleveland-Redland Bay Road from Anita Street to Giles Road (detailed design).

Current status
Anita Street intersection upgrade
Construction started in August 2020, with the traffic signals operational in July 2021.
Cleveland-Redland Bay Road duplication (Anita Street to Magnolia Parade)
Construction is underway to duplicate Cleveland-Redland Bay Road between Anita Street in Redland Bay and Magnolia Parade in Victoria Point.

The upgrade will reduce congestion, improve traffic flow, and increase safety for all road users. New on and off-road active transport infrastructure will also improve connectivity for pedestrians and people riding bikes.
Safety improvement works
Safety upgrades to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion and increase safety at various intersections including Serpentine Creek Road. The upgrades started in early 2022 and were operational in March 2023.
Cleveland-Redland Bay Road future planning
A planning study to identify suitable upgrade solutions for the Boundary Road roundabout and Cleveland-Redland Bay Road (Anita Street to Giles Road) corridor started in October 2021.
