Cooroy intersection improvements

The Queensland Government is undertaking planning investigations to improve safety and traffic flow at the intersections of Diamond and Elm Streets and Myall and Elm Streets in Cooroy.

Planning is building on preliminary work completed in 2019.

Funding

The Queensland Government has fully funded planning activities in the current Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program 2026–27 to 2029–30.

Key features

The planning will investigate upgrades that:

  • manage congestion and improve traffic flow during peak periods
  • improve safety for all road users
  • consider active transport provisions for pedestrians and bike riders.

Current status

Current investigations will build on previous preliminary planning and will include community feedback received during consultation in 2019. Options assessment will be undertaken to identify a preferred option to improve network efficiency and safety for all road users.
