Cooroy intersection improvements

We are finalising planning for the upgrade of the intersections at Diamond and Elm Streets and Myall and Elm Streets at Cooroy.

Through preliminary planning, we have identified a preferred planning option to upgrade the intersections at Diamond and Elm Streets and Myall and Elm Streets with the options identified allowing for future traffic growth, pedestrian and cyclist safety and maintaining traffic flow.

In 2019, key stakeholders and the local community were invited to provide feedback on traffic signals as the proposed future upgrade option for both intersections.

The preferred planning option to upgrade both intersections aims to:

  • Enhance active transport provisions for pedestrians and bike riders.

Current status

There is currently no funding allocated to progress upgrades to the intersections at Diamond and Elm Streets and Myall and Elm Streets beyond preliminary planning. Funding for detailed design and construction will be considered during future program reviews and against other competing priorities across the state.

A final planning option for both intersections will be considered further and announced in due course. We will update key stakeholders and the local community at this time.
