Cunningham Highway (Ipswich – Warwick), Cunninghams Gap to west of Gladfield rest area, pavement strengthening

The Queensland Government is undertaking pavement strengthening works on the Cunningham Highway to provide a better driving experience for all road users and to reduce the frequency and severity of crashes.

The Cunningham Highway is an important link that forms part of the Australian Government’s National Land Transport Network.

This section of the highway has been identified for safety improvements due to the deteriorating road surface.

Pavement strengthening will occur in stages over several years, including trials to confirm the optimal methods and materials to strengthen the pavement. This will allow us to maximise the works able to be completed with the available funding and increase the lifespan of the road.
