David Low Way bike lanes

On-road bike lanes are being constructed to improve safety at Marcoola and Mudjimba.

Stage 1 between Mudjimba Esplanade and Keith Royal Drive was completed in 2017. 

Stage 2 to construct a northbound bike lane between Airport Drive and Mudjimba Esplanade and a pedestrian refuge was completed in December 2020.

To complement these works, further funding has been allocated for Stage 3 to design and construct an on-road southbound bike lane between Airport Drive and Mudjimba Esplanade.

  • Raised concrete median pedestrian refuge and street lighting about 100m south of Mudjimba Esplanade.

  • Turf installation adjacent to widening works.

Current status

Construction is now complete on stages 1 and 2 of this project. 

Detailed design is expected to start in early 2021 for Stage 3.
