Garbutt-Upper Ross Road, Halliday Street to Gouldian Avenue, improve safety

The Queensland Government is improving safety at various locations along Garbutt – Upper Ross Road (locally known as Thuringowa Drive and Riverway Drive), from the Halliday Street/Thuringowa Drive intersection to the Gouldian Avenue/Riverway Drive intersection.

The works are being delivered under the High-Risk Roads Program which is a state funded initiative to address key safety concerns for the whole of a road segment or route.

This initiative focuses on road sections with high fatality or serious injury crash rates and aims to provide proactive safety treatments for all road users, including road users, people walking, bike riders, and motorists.

  • Smart signalised mid-block pedestrian crossings:

    • Raised pedestrian priority crossings

This project currently has no funding allocation for planning/delivery and future funding will be determined against other priorities across Queensland.
