Gold Coast Highway and Toolona Street Intersection Upgrade

We are upgrading the pedestrian crossings at the intersection of Gold Coast Highway and Toolona Street, Tugun.

This upgrade aims to improve the safety and efficiency of the intersection by providing increased crossing time for pedestrians and making improvements to traffic efficiency by reducing queue length at the intersection.

Funding

The Queensland Government has committed $1.5 million in funding as part of the Queensland Economic Recovery Strategy: Unite and Recover for Queensland Jobs.

Current status

We are currently undertaking detailed design of the Gold Coast Highway and Toolona Street intersection upgrade which will improve safety and efficiency for both motorists and pedestrians. Construction is expected to commence in the 2021-22 financial year.
