Gold Coast Highway and Toolona Street, upgrade intersection

The department is undertaking this project to improve pedestrian safety on the Gold Coast Highway at the Toolona Street intersection in Tugun.

The project will provide safer pedestrian facilities across the Gold Coast Highway with increased crossing time at the intersection.

Current status

Stage 1 involves road resurfacing work on the Gold Coast Highway from Toolona Street to Wanda Avenue. Stage 2 will involve the upgrade of the pedestrian crossing at the Toolona Street intersection. Construction is underway and will continue until early 2022.
