Gore Highway (Toowoomba – Millmerran) and Toowoomba–Athol Road, improve safety
This project involves safety upgrades to the Gore Highway (Toowoomba – Millmerran) and Toowoomba–Athol Road.
These roads are critical components of the transport network and are locally referred to as Anzac Avenue.
Key improvements include:
- Construction of additional turning lanes.
- Installation of wide centre line treatments.
- Upgrades to key intersections.
The Gore Highway and Toowoomba–Athol Road are essential for freight, urban, and rural traffic travelling in and out of Toowoomba from the southwest. The upgrades aim to enhance road safety, improve transport efficiency, and support economic development while reducing the risk of fatal and serious injury crashes.
Community and stakeholder feedback during the planning and design stages has been incorporated into the final design to address local concerns and improve outcomes.
