Gympie Connection Road priority intersection upgrades, planning
We are undertaking planning work to investigate the safety and efficiency of 3 intersections along Gympie Connection Road and the intersection at Noosa Road and Tin Can Bay Road (Brisbane Road).
The Gympie Connection Road intersections include:
- Horseshoe Bend and Stewart Terrace
- Old Maryborough Road and Stewart Terrace
- Butler Street, Banks Pocket Road and Bath Terrace.
This early planning aims to address the safety, traffic efficiency and capacity of the 4 intersections and consider the current and future needs of pedestrians, bike riders and heavy vehicles.
We are analysing traffic at the intersections now that the Bypass is open. This will help us identify the need to develop plans for priority upgrades and seek funding for future detailed design and construction.
