Nerang to Broadbeach Public Transport Route

We're investigating the east-west public transport route connecting Nerang Station with Broadbeach South. This route will make travel faster, easier and more reliable for communities in the central Gold Coast.

In 2023, the Central Gold Coast East-West Passenger Transport Study identified 2 key transport corridors: Nerang to Broadbeach and Robina to Miami. Both Corridors are part of the Queensland Government’s 2032 Delivery Plan, which aims to improve transport and support the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Queensland Government is undertaking detailed investigations for the Nerang to Broadbeach route.

The Nerang to Broadbeach public transport corridor is a critical connection for customers travelling between heavy rail at Nerang and light rail at Broadbeach South.

We’re investigating high frequency bus services and supporting infrastructure along this route to reduce travel times and provide more transport options. The route will improve connections for southern and central Gold Coast to the wider South East Queensland network.

The route will also improve connections to key destinations like the Carrara sports precinct and Broadbeach, making it more convenient to travel to major events and popular locations.

This project supports wider plans to improve transport across the Gold Coast, reduce congestion and support the region’s growth including increasing tourist numbers, leaving a lasting legacy for the Gold Coast.
