Smith Street Connection Road, Olsen Avenue to Kumbari Avenue, construct cycleway
The Queensland Government has delivered new bicycle facilities to connect to local health, education, business, and tourist areas.
The project will make local roads safer for bike riders and also prepare for future bicycle paths in the area.
The department is continuing to deliver infrastructure and programs to encourage more people to bike ride, whether it be for recreation, commuting, fitness or socialising.

Stage 1
- Construction of an on-road eastbound bike lane along Smith Street Connection Road between Village Boulevard and Kumbari Avenue.
- Construction of an on-road westbound bike lane along Smith Street Connection Road between Village Boulevard and Olsen Avenue.
Stage 2
- Construction of an on-road eastbound bike lane along Smith Street Connection Road between Olsen Avenue and Parklands Drive.
- Construction of a shared path between Village Boulevard and the Griffith University pedestrian bridge on the southern side of Smith Street Connection Road.

Stage 1 of this project is fully funded by the Queensland Government ($4.5 million).
