Construction will commence this year on a new roundabout at the intersection of Tin Can Bay Road and Bayside Road, at Tin Can Bay.

The new single-lane roundabout at this busy intersection is a high priority for the local community and will improve safety and traffic flow on what has become a very popular tourist route.

The Queensland Government has committed a total of $2.8 million under the Safer Roads Sooner Program.

Current status

Works to relocate essential services, such as power and water, will be undertaken by public utility providers prior to major works.

Construction of the new roundabout will follow, with all project activities expected to conclude in 2025.
