Toowoomba Central Active Transport Link, business case
Planning is progressing for another key link in Toowoomba's Principal Cycle Network, between the Toowoomba CBD and Highfields
The Toowoomba Central Active Transport Link project involves planning for safe and convenient active transport facilities to encourage more people to walk and ride more often in Toowoomba.
The proposed route provides an alternative to facilities on the New England Highway (Ruthven Street) and will use the state-controlled road, local government roads, and rail corridor to create a safe, direct and connected path for active transport users in line with the Queensland Cycling Strategy (2017–2027) and the Queensland Walking Strategy (2019–2029).
Design and construction projects will be prioritised and delivered collaboratively with Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC).
