Mooloolaba Road, Syd Lingard Drive to Tantula Road West, upgrade intersection

The Queensland Government is progressing construction of the Mooloolaba Road, Syd Lingard Drive to Tantula Road West intersections upgrade project in Buderim.

The project focuses on targeted upgrades at the Syd Lingard Drive and Tantula Road West intersections, to improve traffic flow, reduce delays and congestion, and enhance safety for all road users.

The upgrades will improve access to Syd Lingard Drive, Sugar Road, Tantula Road West, and the Sunshine Motorway. They will also improve the operation of the Mooloolaba Road bridge over the Sunshine Motorway, helping to improve traffic flow through this busy area.

Key features

  • Modify right-turn lanes eastbound on Mooloolaba Road overpass to improve lane utilisation
  • Provide 2 dedicated left-turn lanes from Sugar Road on to Mooloolaba Road
  • Widen to provide 2 through lanes westbound from Sugar Road to west of the Syd Lingard Drive intersection
  • Install signalised pedestrian crossings at the Mooloolaba Road and Sugar Road intersection
  • Realign the slip lane on the Sunshine Motorway southbound exit ramp intersection to improve safety
  • Provide a mix of dedicated on-road bike lanes and off-road paths
  • Improve lighting

Funding

This project is a planned investment. The Queensland Government has allocated funding towards upgrading the intersections, including through the Safer Roads, Better Transport Initiative.
