Mossman – Mount Molloy Road, 2024 Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements reconstruction works

Reconstruction works on Mossman – Mount Molloy Road are underway to repair multiple landslips from Tropical Cyclone Jasper in December 2023.

The upslope slips measure up to 19m, while the downslope slip sites range from 4m to 9m.

These works will restore the road to its pre-cyclone function.

Eleven geotechnical sites have been repaired, with work ongoing at a further two slope sites.

Key reconstruction measures include:

  • stabilising slopes to prevent erosion and landslides
  • installing advanced soil anchoring systems
  • constructing durable rock and concrete retaining walls
  • revegetation.

Betterment works to improve drainage at three locations on the road will be delivered later in 2026.

Funding
