ConstructionA targeted program of works is being delivered to improve safety and travel conditions along the Brisbane Valley Highway.
Passing through Fernvale, Esk, Toogoolawah, and Harlin and spanning 89.5km between the Warrego and D’Aguilar highways, the highway is a key commuter corridor supporting freight, tourism, and local communities.
The Brisbane Valley Highway Safety Program is supported through commitments from the Australian Government, Queensland Government, and Somerset Regional Council.
Assessment of the corridor has identified investment opportunities in five key areas:
Pavement strengthening near Ottaba commenced in early 2026 and is progressing. Construction is underway on the Forest Hill–Fernvale Road intersection safety improvements at Fernvale. Design is progressing for safety improvements at other priority intersections including Wivenhoe Pocket Road (north) at Wivenhoe Pocket, and Dingyarra Street and Mount Beppo Road intersections at Toogoolawah.
