Warrego Highway East master plan – Ipswich to Toowoomba
The Warrego Highway East master plan project will determine the future requirements of the Warrego Highway transport corridor.
The Warrego Highway East master plan builds on the Warrego Highway Upgrade Strategy released by the Queensland Government in 2012.
Master planning will inform how improvements to the Warrego Highway will be delivered over the next 30 years (and beyond). To enable implementation of the master plan, we are working towards protecting the future transport corridor for the Warrego Highway between Dinmore and Helidon Spa. The future transport corridor will generally follow the current Warrego Highway, but some sections will need to be re-aligned and/or widened.
Consultation with landowners and stakeholders on the master plan and corridor protection has been completed between Marburg Range and Helidon Spa. Consultation with landowners and stakeholders between Dinmore and Marburg Range is currently underway.
There are several ways to participate, including staying up to date via this project website and subscribing to project updates.
Following consultation, the Warrego Highway East master plan is expected to be published.
Implementation of the master plan is expected to take place in stages and is dependent on funding.
